Much of the substantive work of AfriHeritage is carried out through a network of over 100 individual fellows (within and outside of Nigeria) affiliated to the Institute as Associate Fellows. The Institution's Associate Fellows Programme is a networking model that has proved to be a very credible and beneficial platform, providing rich opportunities for intellectual self-enhancement, academic interaction and mutual learning.
The Business Environment and Competitiveness Across Nigerian States (BECANS) is AfriHeritage's flagship research, survey and dissemination initiative. The ultimate goal of BECANS is to promote evidencebased reforms of the business environment in Nigeria, with focus on the subnational jurisdictions (state and local governments). BECANS I was launched in 2007 while BECANS II was launched in 2010.
